Bournemouth Uni fences are removed after Occupy leave the site

Gates blocking students from entering Bournemouth University were removed this morning after Occupy protestors left the site yesterday afternoon.

The group ended their 18 day protest at the Talbot Campus entrance, near the Boundary Roundabout, before baliffs arrived at 2pm.

The University was granted a full injunction to exclude the protesters at a Poole County Court hearing last week, where a district judge also issued court costs against the group.

The hearing was held the day after Occupy Bournemouth representative, Gary Sherborne, spoke to Nerve’s Dominic Garcia live in Dylans bar.

Occupy have traveled across the town over the past few months in protest of the global economic system and distribution of wealth, before setting up camp on University land on the March 9.

The fences were removed from the site around 10am this morning.
